Privacy Policy

Last updated: 11 August 2026

Woohoo Social Pty Ltd (ABN 88 698 905 092, ACN 698 905 092) ("Woohoo", "we", "us") operates the Woohoo mobile app and the website woohooau.com. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, and how we handle it. Woohoo is an Australian company that is launching in Singapore. For our users in Singapore, we handle personal data in accordance with Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (the "PDPA"). As an Australian company, Woohoo Social Pty Ltd is also subject to Australian privacy law. In this policy, "personal data" means data about an individual who can be identified from that data.

Data Protection Officer

Woohoo designates a Data Protection Officer (DPO) responsible for our compliance with the PDPA, and publishes their contact details. Data protection questions and requests, and any concern about how we handle your personal data, can be sent to privacy@woohooau.com, and will reach our Data Protection Officer.

What we collect

Account and profile information: your name, email address, age, gender, area, profile photos, bio, and the profile prompts you choose to answer. Phone number if you verify it.

Plans and activity: the venues you tap keen on, your matches, locked plans, chat messages with your matches, check-ins, and your Follow-Through Rate.

Location: your device location, used to show venues around you and to verify that you attended a plan when you check in. Location is collected only while you use those features.

Device information: device push notification tokens so we can send you notifications you have enabled.

Website forms: if you join the waitlist or apply as a venue partner on our website, we collect the details you submit (such as name, email, venue name, and area).

What we do not collect

We do not run advertising or analytics trackers in the app or on the website. We do not sell personal data to anyone. We do not use your data to build advertising profiles.

Purpose and how we use your data

We tell you the purpose for which we collect your personal data at or before the time we collect it, in the app and in this policy, and we use it only for purposes that a reasonable person would consider appropriate. Those purposes are:

To operate Woohoo: matching you with compatible people, showing venues, locking plans, verifying meetups, and calculating your Follow-Through Rate.

To keep the community safe: enforcing our Terms of Service, preventing fake accounts, and responding to reports.

To communicate with you: service notifications you have enabled, and replies to messages you send us.

To improve the service: understanding how features are used, in aggregate.

What other users can see

Your profile (name, age, photos, bio, prompts), your Follow-Through Rate, and the intent you declare on a plan are visible to people you are matched with or may match with. Your exact location, email, and phone number are never shown to other users.

Who we share data with, and overseas transfer

We use a third-party cloud provider (Google LLC) to run Woohoo. We do not share your personal data with any other third parties, except where required by law.

Because Woohoo Social Pty Ltd is an Australian company, your personal data is stored in Australia, and some limited data (such as your email address or device token) may be processed in other countries by our cloud provider. When we transfer personal data outside Singapore, we take reasonable steps to make sure it is protected to a standard comparable to the PDPA, including through contractual commitments with the provider that handles it.

Photos

Profile photos are not publicly accessible. They are only visible to people you are matched with or may match with.

Retention and deletion

We keep your personal data only for as long as it is needed for the purposes in this policy or to meet a legal or business need. Once it no longer serves any such purpose, we stop keeping it or remove the means by which it can be linked to you. You can delete your account in the app, or by emailing privacy@woohooau.com, and we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain certain records by law. Waitlist and venue application details are kept until launch onboarding is complete or you ask us to remove them.

Access, correction and portability

You can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, and for information about how it has been used or disclosed in the year before your request, by emailing privacy@woohooau.com. You can also ask us to correct data that is inaccurate or out of date, and we will correct it unless we have a lawful reason not to. The PDPA also provides for data portability, which would let you ask us to transmit certain data to another organisation in a commonly used format. That right is not yet in force in Singapore; once it commences, we will honour valid portability requests.

Data breaches

If a data breach happens that is likely to result in significant harm to affected individuals, or that is of a significant scale (affecting 500 or more individuals), we will notify Singapore's Personal Data Protection Commission (PDPC) as soon as practicable, and in any case within 3 calendar days of deciding that the breach is notifiable. Where a breach is likely to cause significant harm to you, we will also notify you, so that you can take steps to protect yourself.

Age

Woohoo is strictly for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If we become aware of an account held by someone under 18, we will delete it.

The website

woohooau.com does not use tracking cookies or analytics. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your IP address reaches Google's servers when the page loads. Form submissions go directly to us and are stored in Australia.

Complaints

If you believe we have mishandled your personal data, please contact our Data Protection Officer first at privacy@woohooau.com so that we can try to put it right. If you are in Singapore and are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Personal Data Protection Commission (pdpc.gov.sg).

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update this page and the date above. If a change meaningfully affects how we handle your data, we will notify you in the app or by email.
